What items are good to give?

Ideal donations are small, easily shippable items that retain their value as second-hand goods because once we receive donated items, we re-sell them online and ship them to our buyers.
There are some items the goat loves:
- Smartphones
- iPods
- Video game systems
- Laptops
Do donated items need to work? What about chargers and accessories?

At this time we are only accepting working items since donations will be resold online. Chargers and accessories are appreciated, but not required.
What happens to items after you collect them?
View Answer-
Once you've donated, KarmaGoat will take care of the rest. All items will be tested for functionality and any electronics will have their memory cleared and reset. Once ready for sale, donations are monetized through various channels, including on KarmaGoat.com. 80% of all proceeds are forwarded to the beneficiary nonprofit.
I have stuff I don't use anymore, how can I donate it to fight poverty?

KarmaGoat provides individuals several ways to donate their superfluous stuff, including drop offs, in-person collections and donating by mail. Please visit our Give Stuff page to learn more about how to give through KarmaGoat.
Is my donation tax-deductible?

Currently KarmaGoat is able to issue tax receipts solely on behalf of the United Way. If you would like to donate to a different cause, simply let us know and we'll ask the related nonprofit for a tax receipt on your behalf.
If you'd like to fight poverty by supporting the United Way, we'll send you a tax receipt in the mail.
