Press Center
KarmaGoat started as a student project at UCLA Anderson in 2010, and KarmaGoat.com was first launched in beta in May 2011. Most of the press below reflects the site's beta version, where anyone could raise money for their favorite nonprofit by listing and selling an item themself. PC Mag named us a Top 100 Website of 2011.
Although the press coverage was great, we soon realized we had to make KarmaGoat.com easier for our users. The current version makes it simpler for donors to give, and introduces shipping on all items, thus letting anyone in the U.S. participate in KarmaGoat. The site has changed, but KarmaGoat's mission hasn't: to transform people's unwanted stuff into much-wanted money for nonprofits.
