Design that changes lives - the Wello WaterWheel
Wello's flagship product, the WaterWheel, is a proof that a good idea and a simple design can change the world. A WaterWheel is an innovative water transportation tool designed to alleviate the problems associated with lack of easy access to water. The WaterWheel's smart design allows water to be placed inside its "wheel," transforming 175 pounds of water to an effective weight of just 20 pounds (9 kg). This makes it possible to collect 20 gallons (75 liters) of water- five times the amount possible using traditional methods - in less time and with greater ease.

The WaterWheel maximizes efficiency, hygiene, sustainability and usability:
- Efficiency - The WaterWheel enables one person to transport enough water for an entire family in a single trip.
- Hygiene - The WaterWheel can be securely closed and sealed from contamination during transport. The cap design and smooth interior walls are optimized for easy cleaning.
- Sustainability -The WaterWheel is non-mechanical and does not require energy of any kind. It is a sustainable solution for water transportation that does not require repair or supplies to operate over its 10-15 year lifespan.
- Usability - The broad drum, round edges, and steel handle provide allow for easy handling and maneuvering over a wide variety of terrains, including inclines, declines and corners. The rounded edges facilitate movement from a horizontal rolling position to vertical storage and use.
Fewer trips to collect water means women and children can spend more time on productive educational and economic activities. In addition, men are proud to be seen using a WaterWheel, and many have assumed the role of water carrier for their families.
The daily burden of water collection undermines productivity, limits educational opportunities and traps households in poverty. Wello focuses on reducing the negative social, economic and health consequences of carrying heavy loads of water over long distances.
