Mission

UCLA Anderson's Challenge for Charity (C4C) is the largest charitable organization at the Anderson School of Management. It is part of the MBA Challenge for Charity non-profit organization which hosts an annual competition among nine West Coast business schools to raise money and volunteer for charitable organizations, as well as participate in an annual sports competition. The MBA Challenge for Charity was founded in 1984 by Stanford Business School students in an effort to channel MBA energy back into the community and has grown into the largest charitable business school organization in the world. In the past 14 years, the organization has volunteered thousands of hours and donated over $5.2 million to its selected charities. This past year, UCLA Anderson students volunteered over 5,000 hours and raised over $105,000 from students and the local community. The organization is entirely managed by full-time MBA students.

Anderson C4C supports three local charities: Special Olympics, Junior Achievement, and Project ECHO, helping develop Anderson MBAs with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. The Special Olympics organization provides intellectually disabled individuals with year-round sports to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and share their skills and joy with family and other Special Olympic athletes. Junior Achievement provides hands-on programs to help prepare young people for the real world by educating them about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness. Project ECHO hosts an annual business plan competition and provides start-up and ongoing support to on-campus high school businesses. Anderson C4C contributes by volunteering at various events and being mentors to students in these charities. Additionally, it raises money for its selected charities through a variety of events.
